Dumb Blog Things

You Are Peanut Butter Sandwiches / Do-si-dos

You are easy going and naturally happy. You don't need a lot to make you smile.

You genuinely care about people and are a great friend. You're always doing your best to make the world a better place.

Even though there isn't an immature bone in your body, you still are like a big kid sometimes.

Why make life complicated when the best parts are actually quite simple? You enjoy the small joys of life.

You Are a Centaur

In general, you are a very cautious and reserved person.

However, you are also warm hearted, and you enjoy helping others in practical ways.

You are a great teacher, and you are really good at helping people get their lives in order.

You are very intuitive, and you go with your gut. You make good decisions easily.

You Are a Stapler

No matter how much chaos strikes, you're the one who keeps everyone together.

You cut to the chase, and you're willing to give people an abrupt lesson in tough love.

People may not appreciate you in at times, but everything would be a mess without you.

You would make a CEO. You do best when you can exert your power.

Beware: Sick House.

So Bob was congested, tired and achy on Tuesday and Wednesday. We had a snow day Wednesday, so he didn't have to take off work - snow did that for him. Thursday I came home feeling sick (but work stuff might have had something to do with that - UGH!) Friday I came home after a rougher than rough day and was NOT feeling good. Saturday & Sunday I was feeling rotten, fever, chills, snot, the whole nine yards. And Sunday Maddie started sneezing, sniffling, and in general, being a crank. I'm home with her today. It would have been a sick day for me anyway, so now it's a double-duty sick day. Thanks to children's Ibuprofen and a solid cold, she's been out for over an hour. You forget when you have a kid that suddenly your sick days are not your own. That's fine; she usually doesn't stop moving long enough to get in more than a few hugs a day...and now she's mopey and sniffy, but content to flop on your lap for all of "Martha Speaks".
Good trade off.

Lists

Things I accomplished this weekend so far:
  • Put away swim suits and pool towels. Yes, I know it's November.
  • Straightened up the laundry room.
  • Did all our laundry and put it away.
  • Did Maddie's laundry.
  • Wrote out and mailed Thank-You's.
  • Entered blood sugar numbers for the past month into the chart on my computer - saw a nice downward trend appearing!
  • Made place cards for tomorrow's Mock Thanksgiving Dinner w/ Maddie.
  • Went grocery shopping.
  • Sorted out some major toy mess and put away boxes of too-young toys for storage.
  • Putzed around on facebook and various other time-wasting sites.
Stuff I need to do tomorrow:
  • Lunch "kits" for the week, lunches, water & coffee set-up. (Less prep in the morning = more Maddie time).
  • Put away Maddie clothes.
  • Prep Mock Thanksgiving Dinner foods w/ Bobby.
  • Go to bed at a reasonable hour.
Love,
~ Meg

PS - If I publish these things for the world to see I A) get a sense of minor accomplishment and B) actually have to do the stuff have to do. It's a good system.

What Does Your Birthdate Say About You?

There's a link by the same name at the bottom of the post. I'd like to hear what your results were, since a few of these were pretty darn close. And I don't go in for astrology or any other Nancy Regan scheduling-techniques. So close it's scary or way off?

This one is Maddie's birthday, November 20th, and some of this is just plain scary. The roller coaster ride of emotions could be any toddler (but especially our Moody Maddie), but her power symbol is the music note? Come on, they must have interviewed her somehow!

Your Birthdate: November 20

You are a virtual roller coaster of emotions, and most people enjoy the ride.
Your mood tends to set the tone of the room, and when you're happy, this is a good thing.
When you get in a dark mood, watch out - it's very hard to get you out of it.
It's sometimes hard for you to cheer up, and your gloom can be contagious.

Your strength: Your warm heart

Your weakness: Trouble controlling your emotions

Your power color: Black

Your power symbol: Musical note

Your power month: February

Bob's: Um, weakness: "wearing yourself down with too many responsibilities?" Hmm... And who doesn't feel powerful when they see a snowflake? Anyone?

Your Birthdate: September 18

You are a cohesive force - able to bring many people together for a common cause.
You tend to excel in work situations, but you also facilitate a lot of social gatherings too.
Beyond being a good leader, you are good at inspiring others.
You also keep your powerful emotions in check - you know when to emote and when to repress.

Your strength: Emotional maturity beyond your years

Your weakness: Wearing yourself down with too many responsibilities

Your power color: Crimson red

Your power symbol: Snowflake

Your power month: September

Meg's: Um, what does an Ace look like? Like, the card? That's my power symbol? That's anybody's power symbol, they beat all the other cards!
I do get bored easily, this is true. That is, when I actually have time to get bored.

Your Birthdate: March 5

You have many talents, and you are great at sharing those talents with others.
Most people would be jealous of your clever intellect, but you're just too likeable to elicit jealousy.
Progressive and original, you're usually thinking up cutting edge ideas.
Quick witted and fast thinking, you have difficulty finding new challenges.

Your strength: Your superhuman brainpower

Your weakness: Your susceptibility to boredom

Your power color: Tangerine

Your power symbol: Ace

Your power month: May

I'm apparently a party animal. (I can live with that.)

The best thing about taking online quizzes while you really should be folding laundry is that you're NOT folding laundry. Ooh, perhaps that indicates why I got the results I got here. Something about "messes"? Click on "The Mommy Quiz" link to see how you'd score, mommies (or daddies), and share if you want. It's quick. Oh, and the column is too narrow for all the text of the results here, but you get their drift; I'm wild and crazy. Clearly. Although I should point out that I'm tied with the "Zen Mommy", too. Eh, either way, the laundry waits.

The Mommy quiz
created with QuizFarm.com
You scored as Party animal mom

You are a Party Animal Mom. Your motto is something along the lines of "life is a party" so you make sure to live up to that assertion. You are the queen of fun birthday parties, and the neighborhood kids love being over at your house because you aren't worried about little messes and loud noises- heck you even join in the fun!
